The Human Resources Generalist administers policies relating to all aspects of Human Resources activity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance to the Human Resources Department
  • Ensures compliance with laws and regulations
  • Provides information, solves problems, or otherwise responds to requests from managers and employees.
  • Reconciles monthly benefit bills
  • Administers and tracks leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, personal leaves)
  • Oversees and administers the end-to-end ADA accommodation process to include conducting the interactive process with employees and managers
  • Manages /processes workers' compensation claims including maintaining OSHA log
  • Manages/processes short term and long term disability claims
  • Assists with workplace investigations
  • May assist with exit procedures for separating employees
  • Manages all unemployment claims
  • Participates in department staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as necessary and to represent the department.

  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast paced environment

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline from four-year college or university required

  • Minimum three (3) years relevant work experience in Human Resources

  • Prior experience with FMLA, ADA and workers' compensation is preferred

  • Experience in a company with 1000+ employees strongly preferred

  • Experience with Workday is a plus

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and occasional lifting.
