Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, and cost optimization initiatives across key product categories. This role will oversee Purchasing Managers, drive supplier negotiations, and ensure a consistent, cost-effective supply chain while supporting long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Purchasing Managers, setting priorities and driving performance
- Negotiate supplier agreements and manage key vendor relationships
- Ensure consistent supply of products at optimal cost and service levels
- Analyze market trends and pricing to support strategic sourcing decisions
- Oversee forecasting, cost management, and supply chain performance
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support product initiatives
- Ensure contract compliance and accuracy of supplier agreements
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred)
- 4-6+ years of relevant purchasing or supply chain experience
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
- Experience managing supplier relationships and contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
