The Clinical Nutrition Specialist delivers comprehensive nutrition assessment, intervention, and ongoing nutrition management for patients across Tampa General Hospital, ensuring care aligns with clinical presentation, disease state, and evidence-based practice. The role develops individualized nutrition care plans (inclusive of malnutrition identification, documentation, and intervention). Provides patient and family education and makes recommendations or referrals to support optimal clinical outcomes. As a key nutrition resource, the Clinical Nutrition Specialist collaborates with medical units, interprofessional teams, and ambulatory services, and may participate in special projects, health promotion events, resident education, clinical research, community wellness initiatives, print and media presentations, and One TGH outreach programs. The role requires competence in nutrition-focused physical exams (NFPE) and effective use of multiple software platforms. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of TGH, with reporting to the Director of Clinical Nutrition Services.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics from an institution with an accredited program is required. Master's degree preferred. specialty certifications a plus
- CDR Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetics Registration - RDN.
- Licensure with the Dietetics and Nutrition Practice Council - Florida Department of Health - LDN.
- One (1) year of experience in clinical settings is preferred. Will consider new graduates with demonstrable knowledge of clinical nutrition, and instructional techniques.
