The Elementary Music Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction to students in grades K?5. This role fosters a love of music, creativity, and self-expression while building foundational skills in rhythm, melody, movement, and performance. The teacher creates a positive, inclusive classroom environment and supports the school community through performances and collaborative events.
-Plan and deliver standards-based music instruction aligned with state and district guidelines
-Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, and dynamics
-Incorporate singing, movement, instruments, and creative expression into daily lessons
-Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
-Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, families, and administration
-Organize and direct student performances (e.g., concerts, assemblies, special programs)
-Maintain and manage music classroom materials, instruments, and equipment
-Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student engagement and behavior expectations
-Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music into the broader curriculum
-Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and upcoming events
-Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
