JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing strategic leadership and governance over the financial controls, accrual processes, reconciliations, and operational procedures supporting approximately $700 million in annual Port Services expenditures across NCLH brands. Serves as the primary liaison to Accounting and Finance leadership, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, process standardization, and continuous improvement throughout the Port Services organization.

This role leads organizational process excellence initiatives while maintaining accountability for financial governance, risk mitigation, operational effectiveness, and financial reporting accuracy. The position develops and implements controls, policies, and procedures that support sound financial management and operational excellence across Global Port Services activities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance for accrual management, reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting processes associated with approximately $700 million in annual Port Services expenditures.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in partnership with accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accrual calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, governance frameworks, and compliance procedures supporting financial integrity and audit readiness.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve accrual discrepancies, financial variances, and process exceptions.
  • Oversee reconciliation of Port Incentive Receivables and other vendor-related financial activities.
  • Serve as the primary Port Services liaison to Accounting leadership.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial reporting requirements.
  • Present financial governance metrics, operational performance indicators, risks, and recommendations to Directors, Vice Presidents, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Internal Audit, and Operations.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with established controls and policies.
  • Lead enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce operational risk.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and operating standards.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and process standardization across Port Services.
  • Establish departmental performance metrics and monitor effectiveness of controls and business processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and financial accuracy.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with port agents and service providers to ensure accurate billing, payment, and reconciliation processes.
  • Support contract administration, financial compliance activities, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Support charter operations and special projects requiring financial governance and operational oversight.
  • Participate in industry forums and governance committees related to financial management and operational excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts while establishing performance expectations and development plans.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the team.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all financial reporting and process management deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE:Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, accrual management, audit, financial governance, or process improvement.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Cruise industry or transportation/logistics experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience with ERP, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
