Scope of Position
We are currently accepting applications for an energetic, experienced Sales Manager to join the team here at Embassy Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista South. Our award-winning property is 300 suites with 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting, pre-function, and event space. We have an experienced management team, which runs this very busy hotel and convention center in an exceptional manner with high standards, expectations, and strong results orientation.
Position Requirements
- Preferably four years of experience in Hospitality Sales
- Preferably two years in Hotel Sales Manager role in a comparable hotel/role.
- Local market experience preferred
- Passion and enthusiasm for hospitality are a must
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Proactive sales approach – assertive and fast-paced, driven to succeed
- Strong time management skills
- Proficient use of Salesforce, Cvent, Meeting Broker, and Microsoft Office suite
- Basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of room blocks and average rates
- Ability to travel throughout designated markets in a timely manner
- Ability to organize detailed information
- Analytical ability to decipher data and make sound decisions
Responsibilities
- Organize activities such as telemarketing, outside sales calls, conducting site visits, entertaining clients, developing and soliciting new leads, presenting and preparing written proposals and contracts
- Develop target lists and action plans for account solicitation
- Participate where appropriate in related trade civic/business-related functions
- Be present at and provide service to client events as required
- Proficiently utilize Salesforce (Delphi.fdc) to log activities and mine for opportunities
- Proficiently utilize market intelligence provided by the hotel to uncover future business and opportunities
- Achieve quarterly/annual booking goals/quotas
- Compile weekly productivity report
- Maintain and adhere to company values
- Travel as required when requested by Sales Manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks
- Ability to assimilate complex information and understand financial data
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Physical Requirements
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis
- Occasionally lift, push, pull and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Able to travel for client/visits and appointments
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
