Anticipated Salary Range
Starting Salary: Mid $40,000's, commensurate with experience.

Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences BS Program - College of Medicine
Responsibilities
- Serves as pre-med/pre-health advisor, assists students with their course schedule, career choice, and informs them of the resources available within the university.
- Provides academic guidance and counseling to prospective and current pre-health professional undergraduate students as to the pre-requisite courses and other qualifications for application to the professional school of their choice.
- Responsible for advising post-baccalaureate students, reviewing personal statements, mock interviews, and designing an intervention plan for their application or reapplication to medical school.
- Meets with students for individualized appointments. Maintains effective, efficient, and professional correspondence via email and other student communication services provided by the University (e.g., email, Campus Connect, etc.).
- Maintains a log of advising notes in a computerized database both at the College of Medicine and with the university advising database system (Advisor Center and EAB).
- Responsible for relationship building, monitoring progress, providing intervention, follow-up, and academic support as needed.
- Represents the pre-health advising services at University-wide orientation programs.
- Prepares advisees on application requirements and provides guidance throughout the application process.
- Develops programming to prepare students from all majors for admittance to medical/health professional schools to include interactive presentations and workshops (in person at FSU and remotely) on topics such as medical/health professional school applications, evaluation the strength of their candidacy, MCAT and health professional school admission test preparation, interview preparation, personal statement essay writing, securing letters of recommendation and the letter packet service with FSU College of Medicine Pre-health Advising, obtaining research opportunities, gaining clinical experience, choosing a medical/health professional school and curriculum, health care career work-life balance, specialty selection, and others.
- Develops strategic partnerships (and enhances existing partnerships) with medical professional programs to promote students' success and increase student resources and opportunities. Supports current students and alumni through individual and group advising and programming.
- Supports Pre-Health professional organizations staffed by the Pre-Health Professions Advising Office.
Maintains up-to-date information regarding pre-requisites and admission to health professions schools and programs. - Routinely updates for accuracy all advising materials and information in office handouts, websites, and Pre-Health Canvas site and FSU Pre-Health social media regarding pre-requisites, standardized tests, and admission to health profession schools and programs.
- Serves as liaison with other Pre-Health advisors and campus partners, and maintains up-to-date information trends in graduate health careers.
