Essential Functions: Diagnose, adjust, and overhaul marine machinery on all vessels and equipment operated by FICA. Maintain preventive maintenance protocol to ensure optimum fleet operation. Working the overnight shift.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs preventive and routine maintenance on all vessels, trolleys, ramps, and any other marine-related equipment.
  • Perform in-house repairs on main engines, generators, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems.
  • Respond to equipment casualties and determine a strategy for repair
  • Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Present professional attire at all times
  • Maintain proper documentation of all maintenance, repairs, and observations
  • Comply with all Fisher Island standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise and teach other mechanics on operational needs.
  • Communicate (read, write, speak) professionally
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Maintain working areas clean.

Education/ Skills/ Work Experience Required
  • High School Diploma and trade school certificates
  • (5) years of experience with Marine diesel engines, gasoline engines, and hydraulic systems.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills (speak, read, write English)
  • Ability to multitask and work a flexible schedule
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Working an overnight shift
