Primary Functions:

Under the direction of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program Manager, the Job Coach provides on-site training, supervision, and support to both adults and minors in community employment settings. This position assists participants in securing and maintaining meaningful, competitive, integrated employment by conducting vocational assessments, preparing individuals for employment, providing job placement assistance, delivering on-the-job coaching and skills training, and promoting job readiness. The Job Coach monitors participant progress, provides follow-up and retention services, and ensures participants receive the guidance and support necessary to achieve long-term employment success and greater independence in the workplace.

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct participant assessments to identify strengths, barriers, interests, skills, and employment goals, and develop individualized service plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers and community partners to identify competitive employment opportunities
  • Provide on-the-job coaching, training, and workplace support to help participants develop job skills and achieve independence
  • Recommend and coordinate reasonable accommodations, assistive technology, and other supports to promote workplace success
  • Monitor participant progress, provide follow-up and retention services, and modify support plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate case documentation, including assessments, case notes, reports, and participant records in designated case management systems
  • Communicate and collaborate with employers, referral agencies, and internal teams to coordinate services and support participant success
  • Refer participants to community resources and services to address employment-related barriers, including transportation and supportive services
  • Educate employers and participants on workplace expectations, disability awareness, reasonable accommodations, and self-advocacy
  • Uphold Goodwill's mission, policies, and professional standards while performing other duties as assigned
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants using American Sign Language (ASL), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), visual supports, non-verbal communication techniques, and other accessible communication methods
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in human services, Psychology, Rehabilitation Services, Education or 3 years of related experience
  • 2 years' experience in job coaching techniques with individuals with disabilities, justice-involved individuals, or other barriers to employment preferred
  • Passing a Level II background screening (Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse)
  • Must meet eligibility criteria set forth by Vocational Rehabilitation and Ticket to Work Programs within 90 days of hire
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (spoken and written)

Qualifications:
  • Combination of education, training, volunteer, intern, and relevant non-paid work experience a plus
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and employment support strategies
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and vocational rehabilitation services
  • Job Search apps, tools, and best practices
  • Knowledgeable of laws related to the employment of minors

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Must be able to lift to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Typical Work Environment:
  • Primary duties are performed in various worksites
  • Travel is required
  • Acceptable DMV record
  • Valid driver's license
  • Will be working alongside others with social, mental, and emotional disabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software
