JOB SUMMARY: The Intern will have the opportunity to work directly on the design and engineering of a new theme park attraction alongside industry professionals. This role provides hands-on experience in turning creative concepts into fully realized guest experiences.
As part of the Engineering & Safety team, the intern will:
Collaborate with designers, facility team, and contractors to support the engineering design of attraction show systems.
Gain exposure to the end-to-end attraction development process, from internal concept design through vendor design phases.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of design documentation, capturing key details about attraction layouts, operations, and maintenance requirements.
Work with multiple disciplines and trades to ensure that design intent is translated into successful technical execution.
Contribute to design reviews, mock-ups, and fabrication activities that directly support attraction delivery.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and compile attraction information to facilitate design and planning.
- Work with the show engineering team to solve complex technical challenges to help bring the creative concepts into reality.
- Generate 3D models to demonstrate technical solutions as needed.
- Organize and prioritize collaboratively and effectively.
- Support fabrication quality assurance observations, progress, and integrate solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Experience with solid modeling software (Solidworks or similar)
- Understanding of prop or scenic element fabrication and methods
- Familiarity with technical theater elements
- Familiarity with engineering design and documentation (drawing, dimensions and tolerances, architectural details)
- Understanding of reviewing and interpreting specifications and safety standards
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesable to adapt designs or plans when faced with real-world challenges
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Theme Park Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Theater, or similar.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
