The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications on the IBM Mainframe z/OS platform. Position is based out of Houston.Key Responsibilities• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2 and SAS.• Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions.• Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning using tools such as Fault Analyzer and File Manager.• Manage and maintain source code using PANVALET and related utilities.• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.Required Skills & Experience• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2 and SAS.• Ability to analyze SAS programs.• Proficiency with mainframe utilities/tools including: o PANVALETo Fault Analyzero File Manager• Solid understanding of batch and online processing in mainframe environments.• Experience working on IBM Mainframe z/OS operating systems.• Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues efficiently.• Strong communication and documentation skills.Preferred Qualifications• Experience in Mid-scale enterprise environments.• Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization for DB2 and SAS applications.• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid development methodologies.• Exposure to modernization or migration initiatives is a plus.Operating Environment• Primary Operating System: IBM Mainframe z/OS• Development & Diagnostic Tools: PANVALET, DB2 Platinum, QMF, Fault Analyzer, File Manager• Core Technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2 and SAS.
