Position Overview
CT/HX, a Fidelity Building Services Group company, is seeking a Cooling Tower Mechanic to join our growing field service team. This position is responsible for assisting with the inspection, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and installation of commercial and industrial cooling tower systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who enjoys working with their hands and wants to develop specialized skills in the cooling tower industry. Previous cooling tower experience is not required. Candidates with experience in HVAC, automotive repair, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, or other mechanical trades are encouraged to apply.
Depending on experience, this position may range from an entry-level mechanic developing their skills to an experienced technician capable of independently performing more advanced cooling tower repairs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with inspection, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of commercial and industrial cooling towers.
- Perform mechanical repairs involving cooling tower fans, motors, gear drives, bearings, shafts, couplings, belts, and other rotating equipment.
- Assist with removal, installation, and replacement of mechanical components and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and general service work on cooling tower systems.
- Assist with cooling tower rebuilds, fill-media replacement, basin and distribution-system repairs, and other refurbishment projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and mechanical diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
- Read and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
- Follow all company, customer, OSHA, and job-site safety requirements.
- Work effectively with Lead Technicians, Project Managers, and other members of the field service team.
- Travel to customer locations and job sites as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn specialized cooling tower equipment.
- Hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment, tools, or machinery.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and learn new equipment and systems.
- Ability to work safely in commercial and industrial environments.
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel as required for customer projects.
Preferred
Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
- HVAC or commercial HVAC
- Automotive repair
- Diesel mechanics
- Heavy equipment
- Industrial maintenance
- Millwright or mechanical trades
- Pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, or rotating equipment
- Cooling towers or other commercial/industrial mechanical equipment
