Position Summary Description
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the calculation and reporting of the Cooperative's revenue requirements and preparing the annual budget for generation and transmission service to the Member Cooperatives. This includes assisting with the operation of the budget model, collecting and organizing the budget assumptions, validating budget model input, and interpreting year-over-year budget variances and trends. This position is also responsible for supporting the preparation of various monthly management performance reports and reports to the Board of Trustees, and detailed variance and trend analysis of actual financial results in comparison to the cooperative budget. This position performs detailed financial analysis to support cross-departmental initiatives, external benchmarking studies, financial forecasting, and informed management decision making and planning.

Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business equivalent. Additional training in financial management or an advanced accounting or finance degree is desirable. Electrical utility or related industries experience preferred. Applicants with three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in corporate budgeting, financial management and/or an advanced accounting may be considered for the Budget Analyst II-level job title.

This position performs detailed financial analysis to support cross-departmental initiatives, external benchmarking studies, financial forecasting, and informed management decision making and planning.
Essential Functions
- Assists with the operation and maintenance of Seminole's budget model, duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collecting modeling assumptions from various departments and subject matter experts,
- Validating assumptions and inputs used in the model,
- Assisting with preparation of the Budget documentation and presentations to senior management and the Board of Trustees,
- Proofing financial results for reasonableness, expected output, and consistency,
- Analyzing budget and actual variances to assist with explanations, identifying accounting errors, and recommending corrections to GL,
- Assisting with developing, preparing and distributing reports related to monthly management performance, metrics, dashboards and Board of Trustees package, and
- Planning the budget schedule.
- Estimates margin impact of peaks as reported in the MTD peak report.
- Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
- NERC Compliance: Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form. You should also be familiar with Seminole's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole's compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM.
