Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, as well as nursing homes and assisted living facilities affiliated with FSU SeniorHealth™, consistent with the practices' goals and objectives and the current standard of medical care.

Conducts assessments, diagnoses conditions, develops and implements treatment plans, performs approved clinical procedures, manages urgent patient needs, and evaluates care outcomes. Works collaboratively with supervising physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate care, address changes in patient status, and ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record.

Serves as a key clinical resource between patient visits by reviewing patient messages, prescription requests, laboratory and diagnostic results, and consultant reports, while coordinating follow-up care and addressing abnormal findings. Maintains prescriptive authority within scope of practice, communicates patient information to providers and care teams, and ensures compliance with licensure and certification requirements. Supports the education and training of medical students, residents, and physician assistant learners in the clinical setting.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner program.
    Valid Florida licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (in accordance with Chapter 464, FS).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification by certifying agency, or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Post-job offer, but prior to hire requirements:
    • Documentation of current PPD (Purified Protein Derivative) test as performed by a qualified physician, reporting negative results within the past six (6) months.
    • Documentation of physical examination completed by a qualified healthcare provider/physician within the past six (6) months.
  • Within 30 days of hire, the candidate must provide:
    • Documentation of Tetanus immunization within 10 years.
    • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccine or positive antibody titer.
